What are your hours?
Our hours depend on what’s happening. Most events are scheduled in advance. All the details for these events, including reserving your tickets, can be found on our events page. We’ll also have pop-up events that are planned a day or two in advance. Follow our social media to find out when these are happening and how to book.
Where can I park?
There is a paid parking lot directly north of our main entrance. This parking lot can only be accessed at 104th Ave & 100th St. We have negotiated a great rate at this lot ($3 for 3 hours, $6 all night until noon the next day. Normal rate is $6/hour). To access rate, choose Backyard 3 or Backyard 6 at pay station and enter code 236236 if prompted. We also have bike racks on-site and ample room for e-scooter parking.
Does The Backyard accept reservations?
The Backyard does not accept reservations. We are events-based and to ensure your attendance at an event, tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Does The Backyard have any age restrictions?
The Backyard is family-friendly and encourages all ages. Some events will have their own age restrictions (18+, adults-only). These will be clearly noted on our website & social media in the event description.
Yes & No. For some events, it's just not possible to have our furry companions join us — but we do love dogs! Most events will be pet friendly and this will be noted in the description of the event. We kindly ask that all animals be kept on a leash.
Is outside food allowed?
The Backyard was created to support Edmonton’s amazing food trucks and to offer local food made by our city’s best. No outside food or drinks permitted.
What inspired The Backyard?
Design elements of The Backyard have been inspired through our travels, and love of street art. We know we live in an amazing city and The Backyard is our contribution to the place we call home. For us, “support local” is more than a statement, it’s a lifestyle. We hope others will join us in supporting the best that Edmonton has to offer.
Why did you create an outdoor space that is open year-round?
We are proud Edmontonians who fully embrace all four seasons and love being outdoors. We are just as excited to host you in the winter as we are in the summer. We intend to host events year-round in rain, snow, or shine.

How do I buy a ticket? Can I purchase at the door?
For most scheduled events, tickets are available online via our events page. Tickets are first-come, first-served until they are sold out, so the best bet is to buy your tickets online. If an event does not sell out online, a limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Follow us on social media for details on purchasing tickets for pop-up events.
You’re an outdoor venue right? What exactly does this mean?
We are proud to be an open-air space embracing all four seasons. You will be outdoors when you visit us. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Most of our events will take place rain, snow, or shine.
What’s your policy for when an event can’t take place due to weather or some other reason?
Most of our events will take place rain, snow or shine, but in those instances where the weather just doesn’t make it possible, we will reschedule the event to a date in the near future, usually within one week. For those with tickets where the rescheduled date does not work, you have the option of a credit issued for a future event or a refund (minus ticket service fees).
How do I start planning my event at The Backyard?
Start by filling in the form below and provide us with as much detail as you can, including your preferred date & time, duration of event, number of guests, food & drink requirements, type of event & budget. Then the real fun starts, when we work closely with you to fully customize the space to create your unique event.
How much does it cost to book a private function at The Backyard?
All private events will be charged a venue rental fee, which includes the exclusive use of the entire space, staffing & security. The fee is dependent on the day of the week, time of year, time of day, duration of event & number of guests (minimum spends apply). How many people can The Backyard accommodate for a private event?
The Backyard can accommodate anything from intimate gatherings to large bashes of up to 500 people. We are currently only accepting bookings for private functions Thursday - Saturday for groups of 200 or more. We accept private bookings Sunday - Wednesday for groups of 50 or more.
